When she arrived in Los Angeles, Kristina went to work on finding herself an acting coach who would encourage, teach and guide her towards her goal of winning an Oscar, but all she ever seemed to get was negative feedback on her acting style.

And a problem that would later plague her career and cause her to be the butt of jokes amongst the Anti-Flea Patrol was already pointed out by one of the acting coaches who saw Kristina attempt to convey emotion.

Even one of the presidents of a major network expressed his disbelief that Kristina would make it as an actress when he saw her screen test for a network soap opera.

Things looked glum for the little girl from Indiana with the big dreams but hey, when you can't shoot for a film career and an Academy Award, why not set your sights a little lower? And that's exactly what Kristina did: she set her sights on daytime television and the hope of one day winning a Daytime Emmy Award!
"I knew I couldn't go back to Indiana without giving everything my best shot," Kristina told an insider. "I had worked so hard to fulfill this dream, and so many people had laughed so hard at me as I pursued my dream, that I just couldn't go back home without being able to hold my head up high, crinkle my nose and say, 'Well, at least I had the guts to try!' And anyway, after watching all those soap operas, I figured I had the one quality that was indispensable for a soap actress to have. I knew I had the one thing that would make me extremely attractive and hire-able to the networks!"

And with that cheerful attitude in mind, Kristina set out to conquer the world of daytime. First stop: ABC-TV!
