We wept when Lucky Spencer "died" in a fire. I personally spent an entire weekend sobbing uncontrollably and watching the fire scene over and over again -- only to discover, on Monday's episode, that Lucky wasn't dead at all, but being held captive by Cesar Faison. After a long absence, it was revealed that Lucky had been kidnapped and brainwashed by Helena Cassadine, who would actually pretend to have saved Lucky from Faison's evil clutches. 

Lucky Spencer re-emerged a year later with a new face, new hair and a much bulkier and mature physique than he was kidnapped with. Gone were the puppy dog eyes, kissable lips and Gearyesque acting style; in was a guy who looked none the worse for wear, except for a nasty habit of going a little whacky whenever the phrase "Always protect your Queen" was uttered. Sure enough, this was the phrase Helena used to trigger Lucky's brainwashing. It was later revealed that Helena had settled upon this catchphrase after the less popular "Crazy for Cocoa Puffs!" and "Can't Get Enough Of That Sugar Crisp" were tried and discarded. Lucky eventually realized that he was brainwashed and with the help of Kevin Collins and some writers who didn't feel like working on the storyline anymore, Lucky returned to normal. 

Or did he? Recent developments indicate that Lucky's brainwashing goes much deeper than anyone anticipated and that our surfer boy just may go ballistic from a bell tower somewhere in the near future. What's the catchphrase? Nobody knows but one thing's for sure: this is going to turn into yet another great storyline ... for me to poop on! (hint hint)
